Janet was born and raised in Southeast Texas, where her mother and father-in-law continue to live.  She is an only daughter and middle child.  As a child she loved to play with neighborhood girlfriends making chalk cities, azalea perfume, and doll houses.

She currently enjoys gardening, reading, good food with friends, traveling, spending time with her grown children and grand-dog, amateur photography, and long nature walks.  Janet and her husband Bob live in Austin, Texas.
